Ever wonder if any of those angry White people in old Civil Rights era clash newsreels are still just as mean?
Ever wonder if those very same young white people, featured in plenty of much viewed Civil Rights era newsreels shouting, throwing bricks and punching, kicking and acting generally hostile and violent, still harbor that same kind of hatred?
If you think about it, many of those angry young Whites in those vintage newsreels would now be in their late Fifties, Sixties and Seventies, wheich means that plenty of them are still around.
They would be around the general age of Jerry Falwell, or Fred Phelps for instance.
So, do you think that a lot of these people still harbor rather ugly views, perhaps well disguised and mellowed into a smirk with age, with a vast majority of these now older White people pretending that they were never like that at all and morphed into neocon Republican types?
Or is it possible that a majority of them have become shamed at their early hatred and tried to turn over a new leaf and truly repent, something like George Wallace did in the Eighties?
Some people never change, but let’s hope that most did.
