how to keep one of my earrings holes from closing up!?

I got my ears pierced 9 weeks ago. Took the piercing studs out after 8 weeks (a week ago) and since then I have been wearing sterling silver earrings during the day and taking them out at night.

My right hole has healed nicely and I can put earrings in and take them out in 2 seconds with no pain However, I think my left one is a little infected (although it’s not painful or red or swollen) and thus it keeps trying to close up every night, so it takes me 20 minutes to put the earring in. I have to reopen the hole and poke the earring through the back. It can get really painful, but it doesn’t actually bleed.

Any advice on how to get my left hole to heal nicely? Alcohol or peroxide or sea salt with warm water? Leave the earrings in at night for awhile?

Thanks so much :)

Leave the earrings in. There’s no reason to take them out at night. You only take them out after 8 weeks if the holes are completely healed up. Sounds like you can switch earrings all you like, just make sure you leave a pair in all the time until it clears up.

And keep up the rubbing alcohol or peroxide. It can’t hurt, and it will probably help.
