Souvenir Spoon Lot
Where can I find a variety of the rods that hold the spoons in a souvenir spoon display case?
I have a very special souvenir spoon display case that was custom made by a family member. tonight the screw holding it gave way and it hit the floor and smashed. I need to repair (not replace) it. The frame is salvageable, but I need to find the parts that actually hold the spoons to fix it. I want it to look exactly the same as it did before, this really means a lot to me.
the wood is dark, the frame is just shy of 17″ wide and each of the 5 rows held 10 spoons. the cut aways where the spoons sit are rounded.
i found an expensive case that looks very similar but I don’t want to replace it, or destroy another case to repair it!
I’m not totally sure of the design of the case, but rods are called dowels, and are available in many sizes at craft stores. Michaels has them. You might check at a hardware store, too, that sells wood for moldings. You could stain the wood to match, or paint it.
In my area, there is a woodworking store, they sell everything a furniture or wood craft person needs for his craft.
We also have various Hand Made furniture and wood workers who own their own stores and who craft for the home. Maybe somebody could fix it for you.
