Silver Tablespoons
What does your 12 month old eat in a day?
I’m not sure if my son eats too much, too little or just the right amount. He has 16 oz of whole milk a day. A typical breakfast would be 5 tablespoons of oatmeal plus some fruit. Sometimes a Silver Dollar sized waffle with it. Lunch could be a slice of toast with some cottage cheese or 4oz of pasta and cheese. Afternoon snack is a Yobaby yogurt and a handful of cereal snacks. Dinner might be two chicken nuggets, 4-5 tablespoons of sweet potatoes and 2-3 tablespoons of green beans. Sometimes he also eats a small banana for a mid morning snack. He’ll also have some cheerios before bed with some water. He’s 12 1/2 months old, 21 lbs, 14 oz. Thanks!

These are some things my 14 month old eats, maybe you can get some ideas. She usually eats 3 meals (sometimes she skips one) and a snack in a day. She still breastfeeds so only has like 6-8 oz. of milk and 2 oz. of juice mixed with 2 oz. of water. If she’s still thirsty she has water or breastmilk.
Breakfast
Sliced bananas with wheat germ
Multi grain waffles
Canned fruit
Multi-grain cheerios, regular cheerios, other cereal
A whole apple, peeled
Sliced fruit to dip in yogurt
Graduates cereal bars
Scrambled eggs
Plain oatmeal with a little bit of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and granola (no raisins, they’re a choking hazard)
Lunch or Dinner
Baked sweet potato
Baked pork chops
Mashed potatos
Steamed mixed veggies (peas, carrots, corn, butternut squash, green beans, lima beans)
Corn tortillas and refried beans
Chicken breast, sliced, breaded, and baked (a healthier alternative to chicken nuggets) to dip in ketchup, BBQ, or marinara sauce
Wholewheat pasta (chopped spaghetti, or small shapes like penne and wagon wheels to pick up) in sauce with mini meatballs (ground beef or lean ground turkey)
Rice and steamed veggies in a cheesy sauce
Corn on the cob (lots of fun!)
Gerber and Beechnut microwave meals for when you just don’t have time
Turkey w/ mustard, tuna, or Simply JIF Peanut Butter & Jelly, sandwiches on multigrain bread cut into quarters
Breadsticks to dip in marinara sauce
Avocado
Breaded chicken breast stuffed with mozarella and spinach, baked
Slow-cooked pork shoulder, pulled into strips. This is very easy to eat and can be used for so many recipes such as sandwiches or seasoned mexican style on corn tortillas with guacamole.
Flank steak roasted in the oven with veggies, potatos, and mushrooms
Snacks
Fruit to dip in yogurt
Kashi TLC multigrain veggie crackers
Kashi TLC multigrain cookies or cereal bars
Quakers mini rice cakes (cheddar or apple cinnamon flavor)
Low fat string cheese
Lunchables JR. (comes with crackers, turkey, and mozzarella)
Prunes (Be very careful not to eat too many! One a day is enough, but they have wonderful health properties)
Instead of Ice Cream, try frozen yogurt
Beverage
Rice milk
Danimals yogurt drinks
Milk, a little nesquick powder, and a banana mixed in a blender (you can also add cheerios!)
Orange juice, mixed fruit juice, or Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise fruit juice with carrot juice + 50% water
Chamomile tea sweetened with orange juice instead of sugar and watered down (great for bed time!)
Peppermint, lemon, and other herbal teas (make sure that they are normal herbs that are safe!)
