Silver Sewing
Anyone have any ideas on how to construct a silver unicorn horn that I can attach to my head or a hat, etc.?
I am trying to figure out a way I can make a single unicorn’s horn that I can attach to my head or a hat or a headband or something. I want it to be silver or silver and royal blue. Any ideas what to make it out of (BTW, I cannot sew, so cloth would not be good) Any thoughts on what to attach it to? I kind of would like to put it on my forehead but would not know how to do that. I’m open to any suggestions but I prefer not to wear a hat on my head, because I do not look good in hats. Would appreciate any help.
I would make it out of light cardboard. If you can buy the right colour it would be simple otherwise you may have to use white card and decorate it. In that case you may be able to use aluminium foil or paint and glitter to decorate it.
To make the horn you would need something round to use as a template. A dinner plate would be a good size – the horn will be half as long as your circle. Mark out your circle and divide it in half with a line. Cut Out the half circle. Now take the two ends of the straight line and bring them together. Your half circle will form a cone. You can now adjust the size of the cone by overlapping the ends as much as you need to. If you want a very narrow cone you can cut some of the excess card away but make sure you leave some card overlapping. You will need to glue or staple this (or both) to hold the cone together. When you are happy with the result, make a small hole on either side of the horn about 1cm from the bottom and thread through some fine hat elastic. Adjust the elatic to fit around you head and there you have it!
