Can I return my “opened” xbox 360?
My xbox got the E74(1rrod) on January 27th.
I opened my 360 because my warranty expired on Boxing Day(dec26). I didn’t change anything…lost my torx screws so I couldn’t get any farther than the white shell. The warranty sticker is off and so is the silver one holding the dvd drive. Recently I read that the E74 is now covered by the rrod’s 3-year warranty.
So…do you think they would repair it if I sent it in? and should I include a letter if I do send it in?
Edit: I think i’ll try to send it in anyways because even if they don’t repair it I’ll still be where I am now…..xbox 360 doorstop
Be careful about sending it in if you are concerned that they will not repair it free. I did this once and they repaired it and THEN sent me a bill. They did not tell me ahead of time how much it would cost, if they had I would not have authorized it since the bill was basically equal to the cost of a new console.
