Silver Candelabras
Pink and Silver decoration for my wedding?
I want to decorate my wedding reception with light pink and silver, but I am afraid the light pink won’t look very good. I am choosing silver candelabras as centerpieces with 4 long candles (I don’t know if silver or pink) and flower decorations at the top (Hot pink roses with oriental pink Lillis). The chair covers white with light pink sashes, and the napkins pink or silver. The wedding is outdoors in a very green area. I want some suggestions about the colors and also if hot pink would look better instead of light pink with the silver. Also how to alternate the silver and pink in between the sashes, napkins and candles.

I agree with Katie. You have to be careful with those colors to keep it from looking Barbie’s Dream and My Little Pony.
It can be done but you need one accent color to stable it out and be careful that your silver is a rich silver and not a glittery silver.
With the napkins, they can be pink. I’d try to tie in your accent color in each of the table. Perhaps a navy blue or a sage green. Not much but just something to add “weight”.
Mauve with silver is far too 80s for me but I do like the coral a lot. Coral adds some vibrance that makes it a current color and not little girl’s party. You would need to be careful that the coral doesn’t clash with that hot pink though. Many corals are rather close to pink and that will clash terribly.
It would also look more elegant if the light pink is paired with a deeper richer silver–more pewter or charcoal than shiny silver. But in the candelabra, I would not put silver candles. The silver never looks right and melts off faster. I’d put pink candles.
Since you are using pink and silver, stay away from anything that might look more childish. Don’t use a candy bar as your favors. Have very adult food (no sandwiches or hands food). No balloons. These things can work with deeper colors but you want to avoid going overboard.
Just realize when you are looking at something that you need to take it to the area you are looking at. If it’s outdoors and lots of green, take that tablecloth outside to judge if you like it or not. Also get up close. That will help you magnify it by the 20 tables that will be there. Often a small sample of the color looks great but looks horrible when you paint the whole wall. With weddings, what looks good on one table might look overwhelming on all the tables.
