who thinks people are becoming stingier??
i work at a homeware store and i’ve noticed that people are spending less and less on presents, i mean the other day, a lady came and bought a $6 pair of Salad Servers to give as a wedding present. does anyone else notice this or is it just me?

i understand the cost of living is rising, but if the same person who can spend $200 on a set of mugs can only buy a $6 wedding present, how do you explain that
jim e, i dont want to be rude but im saying like, its not possible for 500 different people to buy like 200 and 10 dollars and get the one gift wrapped, and it both be for a wedding, they ask us to wrap, and tell us the occasion so we wrap it correctly

I know what you mean. Some of the wealthiest people I know are FRUGAL!! Trying to nickel and dime their way when they can clearly afford it. You could say it’s the cost of living or the economy and everything… but people are selfish, in a sense. They’ll save and save to get themselves something nice and when it comes to you “… times are tough, this is all I could afford…”
$6 wedding gift… that’s a new low…. because the bride & groom paid WAY MORE for her to attend the wedding and eat a full entree and all the drinks she could want! People should take that into consideration-
