Greek Orthodox Icons are only of those who lived ( Jesus in Flesh) never YHVH ,What is your opinion of Icons.?
We use icons in Greek Orthodoxy only icons are used. Never
statues, Must be on a flat surces. We cannot use Crucifax of Christ (to wear around the neck or one that is on a raised surface) We believe it is fine to have icons in church to explain the Scriptures visually. We Don’t ever have YHVH as it is breaking the Commandments . , Do you believe depicting Christ (in Human Form) when he was Manifested in Flesh is breaking the commandment. or any bibical icon art in Church Please State your Honest Opinion . I truly appreciate all views
from all.
Icons are a nice way to help us remember Jesus, Mary and the saints. The icons are not worshiped. They are given respect because of who they represent. I cherish my icons as I also cherish the pictures of loved ones. The icons remind us. Icons are not like the Eucharist which is the true reality of Jesus.
