Glass Silver
I have Antique Silver toasting glasses made in Italy. They have two bowls. What are they?
The main flute actually looks like a bell because you set the glass down, upside down. This is because the secondary bowl is balanced so that if you were to drink from the main flute it will always stay upright. My grandmother’s family was supposed to be Catholic, is that somehow related?
they are kinda like a coaster for your glass but they are for wine or champagne so the drop doesn’t stain the table cloth or the condensation doesn’t wet it. i thought it was weird too when i first moved to italy but considering they use highly expensive table gowns for special occasions it’s well worth it
