Gauge Round
my 870 12 gauge wingmaster jams. I pull the pump back to load a round but it wont go back. Any suggestions?
I try to load a shell but the bolt is getting hung up on something. Ive totally disassembled, cleaned, and put it all back together but still the problem remains. The pump goes back so i can see inside the chamber but it wont go back to chamber the round. Its really hung up.
My gun has the same problem.
Have you shot a lot of winchester 3 1/2″ shells??? Those 3 1/2 are hell on the 870.
Anyway, when it jams like that you have to push in the action bar lock. What has happened is there’s a piece inside the gun that travels on a little rail inside the receiver. The pump release is suppost to slide along that rail but instead gets caught in front of it.
I bent it back and seemed to help for a while.
I’m going to have to send it back to remington though.

It’s piece #1 that is probably giving you problems. as you are looking at it in the picture, it’s on the right side. See how that slides inside the groove on the inside of the receiver.
