Enamel Cigarette Case
1950 RED SOX Alluminum cigarette case…..value?
I have a 1950 Boston Red Sox Alluminum Cigarette case that would fit a box of Lucky Strikes. It has “1950″ on the Top, The Red Sox Emblem on the Front, and the dates of all the home games on the back. These are done in red, white and Blue Enamel. It was my grandfathers and I got it when he passed away in 1985. It’s in very good to excellent condition with very few scratches….I don’t think it was ever used, as he only smoked a pipe. I’ve kept it in a case since the time I received it. I do know that he got it at Fenway Park during the 1950 season.
Any Idea how much it may be worth?
Watch for similar items on eBay. I find that this gives you a realistic estimate, albeit on the low side of what the market will bear. For more obscure items like yours, it may take a while to find someone offering a similar item. In My eBay you can set up a “My Favorite search,” and have the results emailed to you if someone sells a cigarette case like yours.
You can try Craigslist too. Sports collectors trawl the listings and may express an interest in looking at it. Ive had luck selling baseballs this way.
