Bursting Bladder – is it possible?
Do you know the story of Tycho Brahe. He was 16th century Danish astronomer whose research helped Sir Isaac Newton devise the theory of gravity. Anyways he was invited to a banquet at the Court. It was considered very bad manners to leave a table before the meal was over, and our boy Tycho forgot to go to the bathroom beforehand. The story is that he drank too much, and his bladder burst, which caused him to die a slow and agonizing death. Is this even possible? Wouldn’t you just pee before the pressure got to the point of exploding?

Yes, it’s possible but you’d have to be a real idiot not to go when you need to. Tycho should have just let loose if he couldn’t leave the table. I’d rather be embarrassed than suffer an agonizing death. You can hold it in until your bladder bursts and there are bladder conditions that can cause it to happen such as being paralyzed or having anesthesia that adversely affects the bladder and it doesn’t “wake up”. I’m a nurse and I’ve seen it.
