Icing recipe?
there is a carrot cake recipe on video jug and tells you to make the icing with -
# 220 g cream cheese
# 60 g melted butter
# 500 g icing sugar
Is this 500g of sugar a bit much, Iv never baked a cake so I wouldn’t know. Maybe you need that much or there won’t be enough to cover cake. any answers apprciated. thanks
Glad to see it’s using English measurements even if they are metric – after all, this IS the UK/I site………..
ANYWAY – the point is this: Icing sugar literally disappears before your very eyes as soon as you add any fluid to it – I regularly make icing for a variety of cakes, and three tablespoonsful of water will drown 500g of icing sugar – and in this case, cream cheese needs a lot of sweetening, although it does seem a bit of a strange concoction – more like a filling for a layered cake rather than an icing ! ! !covering ! ! !
