Cocktail Forks
Those who have had a backyard wedding in NJ?
My biggest concern is food – I can rent chairs, tables, tents….etc – but what and how will I set up the food situation – and cocktail hour? Is there a place where I may hire for the day people to help me out (with experience)? as far as serving, clearing, cleaning…etc. I guess I can also rent plates, forks…etc?
I haven’t been married in NJ, but I did have a wedding in a private garden. We rented tables, chairs and a BBQ from a catering company, I found mine by searching google for “catering companies” in my local area or “catering equipment hire”. They also had tents and marquees to hire but you can find those quite cheaply to buy in garden centres. Some companies offered staff to come and serve and clear, but we chose not to bother, my family helped out a lot the day after the wedding. And yes you can rent cutlery and plates as well. As for setting up the food, we had a big table to one side of the deck area, when the food was cooked it was served up on the table, buffet style, and people helped themself to what they wanted. With regards to drinks, we had a friend pour enough champagne for everyone on arrival and then I went around getting drinks for people and mingling, my father also helped out a lot, but mostly people helped themself.
