Artisan Sterling Silver
Where can I get my jewelry designs produced or manufactured in Manhattan?
I have some jewelry designs that I would like to be produced in sterling silver. I’m looking for small scale production, perhaps just a/some artisan(s) looking for freelance-type work and would be willing to make even only a few pieces at a time. I have the designs, I just don’t have the resources/equipment to produce them myself.
Any suggestions appreciated!

I would go and frequent the art schools, the workshops and try to inquire about who would be interested. Best place to get started is to talk to the instructors etc. but this takes a lot more effort on your part since you must essentially do the research. I doubt anyone on here could suggest someone specific since yahoo answers has such a broad range of topics. Another place to visit is Etsy ( http://www.etsy.com )and place this add on their forums. Look at some designers from your area, see if they are willing to work with you, if not see if they can suggest someone who would be interested.
Lastly, go to your local bookstore and look through the beading/jewellery magazines and contact people who might be able to help you. Most artisans with the expensive equipment are usually already well established designers, or don’t have the equipment because they cannot afford it since they are students. In effect, it’s a catch-22. You might have to collaborate with an designer who has all the equipment before you can move on to production using your own equipment.
